CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY AT
THE MERRION IN DUBLIN

Packages and Festivities in the Land Where It All Began

January 2008

New York and Chicago might have crowd-drawing St. Patrick's Day parades but there is nothing like celebrating in Ireland where St. Patrick is the patron saint and all of the shenanigans began centuries ago. There is a five-day Festival with street performances, dancing and music to celebrate it all and the whole country takes a day or two off to party (or pray). Even The Merrion, Dublin's most luxurious hotel, gets in the spirit with a St. Patrick's Festival Offer and a St. Patrick's Shamrock Package.

The St. Patrick's Festival Special Offer includes accommodations in a superior double or twin room in the hotel's Garden Wing, full Irish breakfast for two the next morning and two Black Velvets, the Merrion's signature cocktail, on arrival. It is valid from March 13 to 19, 2008 and costs 355 Euros (approximately $533) per room per night including taxes.

The St. Patrick's Shamrock Package, perfect for guests who want the full Festival experience, includes two nights in a superior double or deluxe twin room in the Garden Wing, full Irish breakfast on both mornings, two Black Velvet cocktails on arrival and two grandstand tickets for the St. Patrick's Day Festival Parade on March 17. A small picnic box is also included to keep hunger pangs at bay during the parade, all for 795 Euros (approximately $1,193) per couple for two nights. The package is valid from March 16 to 19, 2008.

The Merrion is a union of four landmark Georgian townhouses, one of which was the birthplace of the Duke of Wellington, combined with a specially commissioned contemporary wing that wraps around beautiful private gardens. With its extensive art collection, intimate drawing rooms and working fireplaces, the hotel is an ideal home base for enjoying the festivities and exploring the riches of Dublin.
