The Merrion voted Number One hotel in Ireland
by Condé Nast Traveller Magazine

The Merrion, considered Dublin's most prestigious hotel, has been recognised by the readers of American magazine Condé Nast Traveler magazine with the highest ranking of any hotel in Ireland. The Readers' Choice Awards appear in the November 2007 issue of the monthly travel magazine whose tagline is "Truth in Travel."

Peter MacCann, General Manager of The Merrion, said, "We are honoured to be so highly regarded by the readers of this important source of travel news and information in America. This gives us even greater inspiration to surpass the expectations of our guests with our special blend of comfort, service, style and Irish hospitality."

The 2007 Readers' Choice Survey presents the results of a poll of 28,014 randomly selected readers of the magazine across the United States. Readers rated hotels on Food/Dining, Location, Overall Design, Rooms and Service. The finest hotels in nearly every region of the world were rated.

The 143-room Merrion, located on Upper Merrion Street in the center of Dublin, was created from four landscaped terrace houses (one was the birthplace of the first Duke of Wellington) and combined with a specially commissioned contemporary wing that wraps around two distinctive private gardens. The Merrion also boasts one of the most important private collections of art in Ireland.
