ART LOVERS' HEAVEN AT THE MERRION

February 2003 - Art lovers wanting to experience one of Ireland's most important exhibitions can now take advantage of a special package offered by The Merrion in conjunction with the new Paul Henry exhibition to be held at The National Gallery of Ireland, located opposite the hotel. The Merrion, Dublin is already well known to art lovers for its spectacular private collection of 19th and 20th Century Irish art, displayed throughout the magnificently restored interior.

The Paul Henry Offer, which costs €115 (approx. GBP£75) per person sharing, offers guests overnight accommodation in an award-winning double or twin room, complete with full Irish breakfast the following morning and free car parking. Included in this package are two tickets for the Paul Henry Exhibition in the Millennium wing of The National Gallery, where guests can view the largest ever collection of this renowned Irish painter's work. Guests will also receive a complimentary copy of the exclusive catalogue The Art Collection at The Merrion Hotel, which profiles the hotel's private art collection.

The Paul Henry Exhibition is made up of over 100 oils and works on paper by Henry, many of which have never been seen by the public before. Henry is widely recognised as Ireland's most renowned landscape painter and his spectacular landscapes of Achill, Connemara, Killary Harbour and Donegal are just some of the works that will be on display at the exhibition. Henry's paintings are seen as a driving force in the shaping of Irish culture and this exhibition will provide a new generation with a retrospective of his work.

This exclusive offer is valid from 19th February until 18th May 2003, is inclusive of value added tax at 13.5% and there is no service charge at The Merrion.
