This summer, The Merrion is redesigning the way its guests get to see Dublin city.
From June 2013, The Merrion will tempt guests away from its blossoming courtyard gardens and elegant Georgian Drawing Rooms to while away a couple of hours with a leisurely cycle ride around this welcoming city.
The Merrion’s charming bicycles come complete with Merrion helmets, tote bags, rain macs – just in case – and an optional delicious home-made Merrion picnic tucked in the basket.
Private, tailor-made tours of Dublin will also be available from Dublin City Bike Tours. These guided tours will move from Upper Merrion Street through the Georgian streets of old Dublin. Along the way will be stops at Dublin Castle, and Trinity College, for a dose of Irish history – just as riders please.
Pedal power will whizz cyclists along the Grand Canal Cycleway, stopping to feed the ducks and share a bench with the statue of Patrick Kavanagh - Irish novelist, and one of the foremost poets of the 20th century, and a favourite spot recommended by Head Concierge Sean Lally.
