See Dublin city in a new light, on board The Merrion’s bicycles!
As delightful as it is simply to linger in The Merrion’s beautiful courtyard gardens or curl up with a book in front of the crackling peat fires in the Drawing Rooms, it would be a shame for visitors not to venture outside to explore Dublin. And what better way to get to know the city than on a leisurely bicycle ride?
The Merrion’s comfortable bicycles come complete with Merrion helmets, tote bags, rain macs – just in case – and an optional delicious home-made Merrion picnic tucked in the basket.
Private, tailor-made tours of Dublin are available from Dublin City Bike Tours. These guided tours travel from Upper Merrion Street through the Georgian streets of old Dublin. Along the way there are stops at Dublin Castle and Trinity College, for a dose of history, or wherever whim dictates.
Pedal power whizzes cyclists along the Grand Canal Cycle-way, stopping to feed the ducks and share a bench with the statue of Irish literary legend, Patrick Kavanagh, one of the foremost poets of the 20th century, and a favourite spot recommended by Head Concierge, Sean Lally.
